I got the thing in the mail today..

Some thigns to note.

(1) Not everyone ( in fact a majority ) is represented in this document. I note a total of 50 people ( including council were in attendance.. A very small proportion of those who live in the area.

(2) Not everyone wants to be represented by the PRA. Some people are not interested in that sort of thing.

Some questions..
(1) How many of the attendees live in the village?

(2) And who paid for this? if it was paid for by the PRA thats all good, but i suspect not. Another un-nessary expense on us rate payers.

My comments particullay about page 27.

"It must be easier to do business in the village".. WRONG..

There should be NO MORE BUSINESS IN the village. THeres already carnage there everyday! THeres enough now, and we simply don't need ANY MORE!!! Its only 10 minutes to porirua where you can shop till you drop. The reason we like pauatahanui is the LACK of business.

We are very happy and able to live without reticulated water and sewage! We've invested heavily in good water treatment and seweage treatment, and frankly i don't want a rates bill increase that will ensue. If it can be shown that i am discharging bad stuff into the ground, i'll change in a flash..

" Parking provsions " . If people did'nt park over my drive way, i'd probably not feel so annoyed. so i'll live with this.. Supposably there was supposed to be suitable parking put in place when the lighthouse started up.. WHAT A JOKE.. no one parks over the bridge to there is absolutely nowhere to park on paekakariki hill road. And the coucil could'nt care less either. And you think more planning will make it better.. The only way to sort out parking is reduce the demand.. and you'd do that by making sure that there is no more business.

" The village needs core services to survive, otherwise it is just a colleciton of houses "...

THe word 'just' really annoys me.. For those peopel that live in the village, the reason we live here is because we like it that way.. We simply don't want it to be anything else.

In essence, if you want a village to park your mummie tractors, and drink lattes at flash cafes, then build it up flightys or moonshine..

Interesting how there was massive opposition to building windmills in teh backyard of the flightys and moonshiners backyards.. Now leave the village alone.

PS. I painted my fence and sweep my footpath..
